What's new in PIIQ this summer

We've made a series of improvements to help you complete redaction work more quickly and with more confidence. Everything below is already in the app. Just open PIIQ and you'll find it.

One button to run the whole job

A single Start button in the top bar now runs the whole pipeline for you: Discovery, Hunters, Analysis and Report. It does only the steps that still need doing.

The button tells you what comes next: Start, Run, Re-run, or Up to date.
It pauses only for the decisions it can't make for you, such as confirming a SAR or approving the Hunter cost.
Less clicking between steps, and nothing left forgotten.

A Report screen that double-checks your redactions

The Report screen is now a review and verification workspace. After redaction it shows every word a recipient could still read, so you can catch anything that was missed before you send.

Words likely to be a missed name are listed first, with a confidence score (for example, name 78%).
One click to redact a word, or expand it and pick the neighbouring names to redact a full identity together. Your choices stay marked across restarts.
A built-in safety check re-scans the finished report and tells you it's all verified, or lists anything still showing.

  Fewer files to review

PIIQ now removes work you don't need to do twice, which means a lower Hunter cost and a cleaner report.

Duplicate detection moves identical files out of scope, including duplicate emails and attachments inside PST, Outlook and mbox archives, so each document is reviewed once and labelled with the copy it matches.
Remove email threading strips the quoted reply history that repeats in every message, keeping only the new part of each email. It works across mailboxes and common reply styles, and never removes a unique attachment.

  More thorough detection

We've widened what PIIQ catches and tightened where it draws the line, so disclosures are safer.

Better coverage of postal addresses (anchored to the postcode), dates and dates of birth, gender pronouns, and phone numbers.
A third party who happens to share part of the data subject's name is no longer revealed by accident.
An address used as the data subject now stays selected through analysis, and stray word fragments no longer appear in the Report review list.
Every in-scope file is fully checked, so none are quietly skipped.

  You choose what gets redacted

A new Detection & Redaction Options dialog lets you turn categories on or off for each job, for example leaving dates or times visible when a case calls for it. The control is in the app, with no configuration files to edit.

Work as a team with Company accounts

If more than one person in your organisation uses PIIQ, you can now bring everyone together under a single company. Members share one pool of credits, and you manage the team from a new Company tab in Settings.

One shared pool of credits. Everyone draws from the same balance, so credits are never stranded on an individual account.
Invite colleagues by email. They join your company automatically when they sign up, and the person who sets the company up is its admin.
Manage it yourself: rename the company, add or remove people, and choose who's an admin, all from the Company tab in Settings.

For larger organisations, we also now support invoice billing: an agreed annual credit allocation paid by bank transfer (annually or in monthly instalments) instead of by card. Get in touch if you'd like this set up.

Behind the scenes, the detection engine now runs faster and can pick up a job where it left off, so larger sets finish sooner with fewer interruptions.

For the full detail on any of these, open the What's New section in Help. As always, we'd welcome your feedback.
